AK Europe Peace and International Affairs
The intentional minimised abbreviation EFI stands for the bulky term „Arbeitskreis Europa Frieden Internationales“.
When founded on March 18, 2006 in Cologne it was called AK Europe, but since we think the other two topics are just as important and both had to be adopted, we thought of this term, that is not being separated by any commas or anything else.
After we worked on the topics peace and international affairs last year (e.g. the conflict in Congo or peace work in Palestine), this year we will focus on Europe.A meeting with young greens from Belgium, the Netherlands, and NRW is planned in Maastricht as well as “Citizen’s Forum” in Dortmund, which will deal with the role of the European Union in German media.
AK EFI is co-ordinated by Kerstin Spieker and Fabian Terbeck and has about 15 activists and more than 50 people on the email list.
Everybody is invited to our seminars which usually last for one or two days.We had different speakers, for example Winni Nachtwei (peace expert of the Green parliament fraction) and a captain of the Bundeswehr (German armed forces).
You do not have to be an expert to participate. We welcome everybody who is interested.
